PRISM- Partnership for Integrated Social MarketingThe Partnership for Integrated Social Marketing began in September of 2009. It aims to bring about positive behaviour change related to sexual and reproductive health. Currently, it is being implemented in parts of Zambia by Society for Family Health (SFH),in partnership with ZHECT and other local implementing partners. ZHECT is implementing activities in four districts namely; Lusaka, Kafue, Chongwe and Mumbwa.
ZHECT’s mandate is to mobilize communities to identify Behaviour Change Promoters (BCPs) and Marriage Counsellors (MCs) and engage them in conducting behavior change counselling as well as the promotion, sales and distribution of socially marketed products and services like male and female condoms, birth control pills and male circumcision services. Behavior change messages also cover the area of Malaria, Family planning, Safe water & Sanitation and HIV prevention. Clorin, Safe plan, Female Care and Maximum condoms are socially marketed to Most at Risk Persons (MARPs) and members of the community where the BCPs and MCs reside. BCP's and MCs reach out to communities in this innovative program aimed at using the power of marketing to increase the use of life saving products . Some of the strategies include the door-to-door method, group education and hot spot visitations. |
